First of all, don’t panic! We have a structured process to test and improve our client websites every single month. This includes utilizing the direct feedback that Google Search Console provides. We use a whole suite of tools to continually improve your performance.
You’re going to get automatic notices like this in the future – and we receive them too – but don’t let them worry you.
We’ve been optimizing some sites for over two years and still haven’t achieved a perfect score on some of Google’s mobility, speed, and Lighthouse tests. Their own site doesn’t get a perfect score.
It’s not for a lack of effort, but some of the items they prescribe are incompatible with other recommendations they make elsewhere.
It’s our position, and this is echoed by other professionals in our industry, that the Google tests are often not the best judge of performance. Google will do things like ding you for having ‘scripts’ on the website, even though the script is for their Analytics tool.
We certainly use these and they can provide valuable insight, but we also utilize other tests like Ahrefs Audit, Pingdom, GT Metrics, and others. Bottom line is that we have you covered and are dedicated to making your website perform as a best-in-class resource.
